The Miami Grand Prix will now begin three hours earlier than planned due to expected heavy rainstorms. This change aims to minimize disruptions and ensure safety for all involved.
The Miami Grand Prix organizers have decided to move the race start forward by three hours, a decision prompted by the forecast of heavy rainstorms later in the day. Originally scheduled to start at 4:00 PM local time, the race will now kick off at 1:00 PM. The FIA, Formula 1, and the Miami Grand Prix promoter reached this conclusion after discussions to ensure the race proceeds with minimal disruption and optimal safety conditions for drivers, fans, and staff alike.
"The decision to adjust the start time to 13:00 local time in Miami has been made to prioritize safety and allow the maximum possible window to complete the race under the best conditions," stated the FIA and its partners.
Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli will lead the grid, starting from pole position, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen will join him on the front row. This adjustment aims to sidestep the worst of the weather, ensuring the race goes ahead with as few complications as possible.
