Doni Nahmias, the creative force behind his namesake brand, discusses his latest collaboration with Formula 1. The collection bridges vintage racing aesthetics with modern streetwear flair.
In a candid chat with F1.com, Doni Nahmias, founder and creative director of NAHMIAS, opened up about his collaboration with Formula 1 on a new collection, just in time for the 2026 Miami Grand Prix. Known for his streetwear-inspired designs, Nahmias brings a fresh twist to classic racing looks, with a nod to the sport's storied past.
The collection, which features the legendary Sir Jackie Stewart as a model, draws inspiration from vintage racing attire and is a reflection of Nahmias' passion for motorsport. "Teaming up with Formula 1 was a no-brainer," he says. "The heritage and energy of F1 are incredibly inspiring."
Nahmias has a long-standing affinity with F1, partly fueled by his friendship with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. "Charles is not just an incredible driver but also a great supporter of the brand," Nahmias notes, highlighting Leclerc's influence in drawing him into the world of F1.
The collection features unique pieces like a suede jacket reminiscent of 1980s racing overalls, though Nahmias insists it wasn't a direct homage. "It's more about taking vintage styles and reimagining them with new materials and cuts," he explains.
While discussing the unveiling of the collection with Sir Jackie Stewart, Nahmias reveals it was a perfect match. "Jackie has always been a fashion icon in his own right," he says. "Working with him was incredible, and we were able to support his charity, Race Against Dementia, which was very rewarding."
As for future plans, Nahmias hints at a special project coming in January 2027, though he's keeping details under wraps for now. Meanwhile, fans can look forward to more innovative designs as NAHMIAS continues to explore the intersection of fashion and motorsport.
In the mix of racing legends and modern style, Nahmias is carving out a niche that beautifully marries the past and present of Formula 1. His collection is not just a tribute to the sport's rich history but also a statement of where racing fashion can go next.
