Briatore: Gucci Partnership a Game-Changer for Alpine's Future

Flavio Briatore shares why Alpine's new partnership with Gucci is set to benefit both the team and Formula 1. The fashion giant will become Alpine's title sponsor from 2027, bringing luxury flair to the racing circuit.

Flavio Briatore, Alpine's Executive Advisor, recently shed some light on their upcoming partnership with Gucci, describing it as 'perfect' for the team's future and advantageous for Formula 1 as a whole. Announced last month, Gucci is set to become Alpine's title partner in 2027. This collaboration will see the team rebranded as the Gucci Racing Alpine Formula One Team and will feature the fashion house's iconic colors.

The partnership marks a significant shift for the Enstone-based outfit, as Gucci aims to create a new platform centered around luxury and sport, emphasizing performance, precision, discipline, and excellence. Briatore, who has previous experience with fashion brands from his days with Benetton, noted the differences this time around. "Benetton was a brand, not a luxury brand," he remarked, reflecting on his past success. "Gucci is one of the biggest deals I've been involved in."

Securing the Gucci deal wasn't straightforward due to the multitude of parties involved, Briatore explained. However, the payoff seems promising. "In just three days after announcing the deal, there were a billion visitors on the website," he highlighted, emphasizing the global reach and excitement surrounding the collaboration.

Gucci's involvement in Formula 1 places it alongside another luxury giant, Louis Vuitton, which sponsors FOM. However, as Briatore pointed out, "Gucci is in the arena," directly involved as the title sponsor and not just a passive observer.

The new partnership means Gucci will replace BWT, the water technology company, as Alpine’s title sponsor. Briatore was gracious in his farewell to BWT, acknowledging the strong relationship with its CEO, Andreas Weissenbacher. "The position of the team I want to have, for growing quickly, for the image, and financially, the deal with Gucci was perfect," he stated, confident in the benefits Gucci will bring to Alpine's development.

Overall, this partnership is not just a branding exercise but a strategic move intended to elevate Alpine's status in the Formula 1 world, aligning the team with the opulence and prestige synonymous with Gucci.
