F1 stalwart Ross Brawn is venturing into MotoGP, joining Pramac Racing as a strategic advisor. His vast experience in motorsport aims to boost the team's ambitions.
Ross Brawn, the mastermind behind several legendary F1 successes, is trading his four-wheel expertise for a two-wheel advisory role with Pramac Racing in MotoGP. The former F1 team boss has been appointed to the Board of Directors, where he'll serve as a Strategic Advisor to Team Principal Paolo Campinoti.
Brawn's illustrious F1 career saw him clinch multiple Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships with Benetton and Ferrari in the 1990s and early 2000s. He then achieved a fairy tale victory with his own Brawn GP team in 2009 before it evolved into the powerhouse Mercedes outfit. From 2017 to 2022, he was at the helm of Formula One Management's motorsport operations.
At 71, Brawn is excited about this new chapter, stating, "I’m delighted to join the board of Pramac Racing Limited in a non-executive role. Motorsport has always been about people, teamwork, and continuous improvement, and I look forward to supporting Paolo and the team. Pramac has built an impressive organization with a strong spirit and ambition, and I’m excited to be part of its future."
Campinoti, clearly chuffed to have Brawn on board, remarked, "I am very proud to welcome Ross to Pramac Racing. Beyond his extraordinary career and achievements in Formula 1, Ross is someone with whom I have shared a friendship and a relationship of great respect for many years. His vision, knowledge, and winning mentality will be a valuable contribution to the continued growth and development of Pramac Racing."
This move marks an intriguing crossover from the high-speed world of F1 to the equally thrilling universe of MotoGP, where Brawn's strategic insights are expected to fuel Pramac Racing's competitive edge.
