Liam Lawson Eyes Momentum Boost as Racing Bulls Edge Closer to Top Teams

Liam Lawson is feeling optimistic as Racing Bulls continue to close the gap with the top four teams in Formula 1. After a commendable performance at the British Grand Prix, where Lawson finished sixth and his teammate Arvid Lindblad took seventh, Racing Bulls are now just a point behind Alpine in the Constructors' Championship.

The team's recent surge is largely credited to a significant upgrade package introduced in Canada, which has consistently placed them at the forefront of the midfield pack. Lawson's own results have been impressive, with his British GP finish matching his season's best from Monaco.

"I'm very happy," Lawson said, reflecting on the British GP results. "It's a big credit to the team for all the hard work. We're now consistently ahead of the midfield, which is fantastic."

Lawson acknowledged that having a fast car helps, noting that the team was particularly strong during qualifying, despite some issues. "We weren't far from the front guys on Friday. A few races ago, we were miles away," he added, emphasizing the strides the team has made.

Arvid Lindblad, racing at his home track for the first time, had a mixed weekend. Despite becoming the youngest British driver to score points in a British GP, he encountered some technical issues after a promising start. "It was great to score points at my first home Grand Prix," he said. "Racing in front of my home crowd made the weekend even more special."

Lindblad faced challenges after going wheel-to-wheel with Max Verstappen, which led to deployment issues that affected his race. Despite the setback, he remained positive about the team's overall performance. "Since the update in Canada, we've had an even better package," he noted.

Both drivers are in good form, and Racing Bulls are well-positioned to challenge Alpine for the top spot in the midfield. With their sights set on the summer break, Lawson and Lindblad are eager to maintain their momentum and perhaps even take the fight to the top four teams if the field continues to tighten as it has this season.
