Nikola Tsolov snatched victory from Gabriele Minì at the Silverstone Sprint with a decisive last-lap overtake. The Bulgarian's strategic patience paid off, earning him his fifth win of the season.
Nikola Tsolov showcased his racing prowess once again by clinching his fifth win of the F2 season at Silverstone, thanks to a daring final-lap overtake. The Campos Racing star made his move on Gabriele Minì, his main competitor in the championship, during the Sprint Race.
Starting from sixth, Tsolov quickly maneuvered into second place, setting up a tense chase behind Minì. The MP Motorsport driver seemed to have the upper hand until an unfortunate lockup at the Loop corner gave Tsolov the opening he needed. Seizing the moment, Tsolov activated his DRS and surged past Minì down the Wellington Straight, securing his victory and marking a second consecutive race win.
Rafael Villagómez of Van Amersfoort Racing completed the podium, securing third place. Meanwhile, ART Grand Prix's Kush Maini and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak followed closely behind in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Elsewhere, Dino Beganovic of DAMS put on an impressive display, climbing from P11 to finish sixth, just ahead of his teammate Roman Bilinski. Joshua Duerksen rounded out the top eight, taking the final point of the race.
With the Sprint Race concluded, attention now turns to the Feature Race, scheduled for Sunday morning at 11:15 local time. For those eager for more details, a comprehensive report on today's Sprint Race is available on the official FIA Formula 2 website.
