Nael Takes Third Consecutive Pole in F3 as Campos Dominates in Barcelona

Theophile Nael secured his third straight pole position in the F3 season, leading a Campos Racing 1-2 finish in Barcelona. Teammate Ugo Ugochukwu narrowly missed out, finishing a mere 0.039 seconds behind.

Theophile Nael seems to have found a comfortable spot at the front of the F3 grid, clinching his third consecutive pole position this season. Racing for Campos, Nael edged out his teammate Ugo Ugochukwu by a whisker, just 0.039 seconds, in Barcelona.

Completing his lap in 1:28.263, Nael ensured that Campos Racing enjoyed a 1-2 finish in qualifying. Van Amersfoort Racing's Hiyu Yamakoshi secured third place, with Rodin Motorsport’s Brando Badoer taking fourth. Badoer remains in fine form, still riding high after his Feature Race victory in Monte Carlo.

In fifth place was ART Grand Prix rookie Taito Kato, followed by another Van Amersfoort driver, Bruno del Pino. Campos Racing's Ernesto Rivera rounded out the top seven, making it three Campos cars in prime positions for their home race.

Further down the grid, Enzo Deligny of Van Amersfoort Racing took eighth place. MP Motorsport’s Tuukka Taponen and TRIDENT’s Freddie Slater completed the top ten.

Just outside the top ten, PREMA Racing's James Wharton qualified in 11th, with DAMS Lucas Oil's Gerrard Xie in 12th. Xie, however, will have the advantage of starting Saturday's Sprint Race from reverse grid pole, with Wharton joining him on the front row.

The 21-lap sprint race is set to kick off at 10:05 local time on Saturday. For those interested in a more detailed rundown of Friday’s FIA Formula 2 Qualifying, feel free to dive into the full recap on the official F3 website.
