Ferrari Secures Charles Leclerc for the Long Haul with New Multi-Year Contract

Ferrari has confirmed Charles Leclerc will remain with the team for several more seasons, reinforcing their long-standing relationship. This announcement comes just before Leclerc's home race in Monaco, where Ferrari aims to capitalize on their street circuit prowess.

Charles Leclerc has inked a new multi-year contract with Ferrari, ensuring that he'll continue to don the iconic red suit "for the coming seasons." Leclerc, who joined the Scuderia in 2019, has been a mainstay in their lineup since graduating from Sauber, following a successful stint in Formula 2.

Since his debut, Leclerc has delivered moments of brilliance, notably his victories at Monza and his home circuit in Monaco during 2024. These achievements have helped him climb to second place for the most appearances with Ferrari, trailing only the legendary Michael Schumacher.

This new contract underlines Leclerc's enduring commitment to Ferrari, a relationship that began with his induction into their driver academy in 2016. The 28-year-old Monegasque is determined to bring a World Championship back to Maranello and considers Ferrari not just a team, but a second family.

"Continuing this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP is a dream come true," said Leclerc. "It’s a team I’ve loved since childhood, and it’s become a second family. We've had our ups and downs, but I believe in this team more than ever. I’m committed to pushing towards our shared goal of winning a World Championship."

Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur expressed his delight at the renewal, calling it a natural step. "Charles has been integral to the Ferrari family. We've watched him grow into one of the strongest drivers in Formula 1. His talent and determination are unmatched, and we’re thrilled to continue working towards our goals together."

The timing of this announcement is fitting as Leclerc prepares for his home race in Monaco. Ferrari has historically performed well in the Principality, and with Mercedes yet to be defeated this season, the Scuderia sees an opportunity to shine. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli has even mentioned Ferrari as the "team to beat" in Monaco, setting high expectations for Leclerc and the team.

After a challenging weekend in Canada, Leclerc and Ferrari hope to replicate their 2024 Monaco success. Such a result would not only boost morale but also serve as a reminder of the team's potential to upset the current season's frontrunners.

As the Monaco Grand Prix approaches, Ferrari fans and the Tifosi will be eager to see if Leclerc can deliver another iconic performance on his home turf.
