Max Verstappen is upbeat about Red Bull's prospects as they prepare for the Canadian Grand Prix. Now, Verstappen hopes this momentum can bring them closer to the front-running teams.

Reflecting on the Miami weekend, Verstappen noted, "Miami was a great step forward for us." However, he remained cautious ahead of the Canadian race, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of each circuit and the ongoing development race. "It's going to be a bit of a development race every single weekend depending on what other teams bring," he added. "Here is a completely different layout. There will still be some surprises and things to get on top of, but I hope to again be close to that top three."

With a series of races coming up, Verstappen was asked about their significance for the championship fight. He emphasized the importance of consistent improvement, saying, "I think for us it's more about just focusing on improvement, trying to be in that fight in the front with the top three teams." He acknowledged the competitive nature of the Miami race and expressed hope that Red Bull could continue to close the gap.

Verstappen's recent stint at the Nurburgring 24 Hours added an extra layer of excitement to his schedule. Despite a driveshaft issue ending his team's contention, he enjoyed the experience, praising the atmosphere and the diverse range of cars. "Honestly, it was great. The drivers were really welcoming, the fans were great, the organisers as well were super friendly and really open-minded," he said.

As the Canadian Grand Prix approaches, Red Bull's focus remains on maintaining their upward trajectory. With Verstappen's optimism and the team's dedication, they aim to inch closer to the top teams and make a significant impact in the upcoming races.
