Lewis Hamilton celebrated a P2 finish at the Canadian Grand Prix, marking his best result with Ferrari. This podium finish has bolstered Ferrari's position in the Constructors' Championship.
Lewis Hamilton couldn't hide his delight after securing a second-place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix, calling it his "happiest day at Ferrari so far." The seven-time World Champion managed to bring home his best result with the team since joining in 2025.
After a somewhat lackluster Sprint Race that saw him finish in sixth, Hamilton found his rhythm on Sunday. Starting from fifth on the grid, he climbed the ranks to challenge Red Bull's Max Verstappen for the runner-up spot, ultimately coming out on top in this battle.
Reflecting on his achievement, Hamilton said, "Oh man, it’s the happiest day of my days at Ferrari so far. It feels great to be able to put the Ferrari on the podium and to get my first second place with the team as well in the main race." He added, "I’m just elated and so proud of the team for working so hard."
He praised the engineering team for their dedication, noting, "I finally have the engineering team that I’ve been working towards. I think our car is great, and the guys did a fantastic job over the winter to get the car where it is." While acknowledging there's still work to be done, he emphasized the car's reliability and the team's effort.
When asked about the personal significance of the result, Hamilton remarked, "Honestly it’s the best feeling. I feel very light right now. I feel great in my body – physically I’m very, very strong, and clearly mentally in a good place."
Hamilton's P2 finish, coupled with teammate Charles Leclerc's fourth-place result, has helped Ferrari solidify their grip on second in the Constructors' Championship, widening the gap over McLaren, who failed to score points in Canada.
