Racing Bulls Celebrate First Double Points Finish of the Season in Monaco

Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad secured a double points finish for Racing Bulls at the Monaco Grand Prix, marking a significant improvement for the team. The drivers expressed satisfaction with their performance, attributing success to strategic calls during the race.

In a welcome change of fortune, Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad clinched fifth and sixth places at the Monaco Grand Prix, marking the team's first double points haul of the season. The result came as a pleasant surprise after a weekend that started with struggles but ended with the team capitalizing on a late-race red flag and penalties affecting competitors.

Lawson's fifth-place finish equaled his best result from last season, continuing a streak where he's scored points in four of the last five races. "It was a very good day," Lawson remarked, reflecting on his P10 qualifying position. "Achieving P5 and P6 is fantastic, especially considering where we began. It's been quite the turnaround."

The New Zealander highlighted the reliability issues plaguing other teams, something Racing Bulls has been able to exploit. "Right now, just surviving the race seems to be earning us points," he added.

For Lindblad, sixth place was a personal best since joining F1 at the start of the season. Despite a disappointing P15 in qualifying, a strategic long opening stint and the timely red flag played to his advantage. "The red flag timing helped, but we executed a strong race regardless," said the British driver, expressing satisfaction with both his own performance and the team's efforts.

This double points finish bolsters Racing Bulls' position in the Teams' standings, now just two points shy of Alpine in sixth. "Everyone, from the trackside to our bases in Milton Keynes and Faenza, did an outstanding job," Lindblad noted, underlining the collective effort behind the result.

As Racing Bulls look to build on this momentum, the team can take pride in their ability to turn a challenging weekend into a significant points gain.
