Kimi Antonelli had initially shone, securing his first Sprint win and pole position for the main race. However, a poor start saw him overtaken by the Ferraris. Despite recovering to challenge Leclerc, a broken wheel shield forced multiple pit stops, dropping him to P15.
George Russell's weekend was mixed. Unable to match Antonelli's pace, he found himself battling for lower podium positions. Yet, thanks to others' misfortunes, Russell finished second, though he was candid about his performance: "I can't fight for a championship with performances like that."
Max Verstappen's weekend ended in disappointment after crashing out due to a recurring rear wing issue. Frustrated, he labeled the problem as "painful and dangerous," having experienced similar issues in Austria.
McLaren, sporting a special livery, struggled to keep pace with the front runners. Lando Norris secured a Sprint podium but could only manage fourth in the main race, aided by others' misfortunes. "We have a lot to improve," Norris admitted, reflecting on the car's lackluster performance.
The weekend also included action in F2, F3, and F1 Academy, with notable performances and a few controversies. Nikola Tsolov continued his F2 dominance, while F3 saw Matteo De Palo disqualified, handing victory to Maciej Gladysz.
