F1 Sprint Race Winners: Verstappen Leads the Pack
Max Verstappen holds the top spot in F1 sprint race victories, though 2026 has yet to deliver him a win. Red Bull leads the team rankings thanks to Verstappen's contributions and a win from Sergio Perez.
Sprint races have added a new dimension to Formula 1 since their introduction in 2021. As the format expands to ten events in 2026, it's worth taking a look at who has thrived in these shorter, high-stakes contests.
Sprint Race Standouts by Driver
Max Verstappen was the first driver to win a sprint race, achieving this feat at Silverstone in 2021. He went on to dominate the format, claiming eight wins from nine races between the 2023 Austrian sprint and the 2024 United States event. However, 2026 has been less kind to Verstappen, leaving Singapore as his last chance to claim a sprint victory this season. With 13 wins, Verstappen is the undisputed leader in the sprint race arena, topping a list of eight drivers who have tasted victory.
