Hamilton and Leclerc Gear Up for Singapore GP with Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc express optimism ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, aiming for a strong performance with Ferrari. While Hamilton remains hopeful, Leclerc points out recent challenges in keeping pace with rivals.

Ferrari enters the Singapore Grand Prix weekend with aspirations of making a strong showing on the challenging street circuit.

Lewis Hamilton, buoyed by a determined drive to the podium in Malaysia, is keen to maintain momentum. Despite starting with an unfortunate tire strategy in the previous race, the seven-time World Champion showcased resilience, clawing his way back to a top-three finish. However, Hamilton is cautious about declaring Ferrari fully back in the hunt for victories just yet.

"It's not that we come here with momentum," Hamilton remarked during Thursday's media sessions in Singapore. "We've had one good race, and we'll try to build on that. This circuit should suit us okay, but it's a Sprint weekend, making it the most challenging track of the year. We're crunching the numbers to ensure we start on the right foot."

Hamilton emphasized the importance of qualifying and the need for Ferrari to begin with a strong performance. "I've been pushing the car in a certain direction, and I think we're making gains. We're here to attack. Qualifying is key, and starting on the right foot would be great," he added.

The Singapore circuit, known for its high downforce demands, may offer Ferrari some advantage. "Our car generally performs well on street circuits, especially where long straights aren't a factor," Hamilton explained. "This track is high drag, so hopefully, the gap on long straights diminishes, allowing us to match the competition through corners."

Charles Leclerc, meanwhile, struck a more cautious tone. Despite Ferrari's traditionally strong performances in Singapore, Leclerc noted the team's recent struggles in keeping up with the likes of McLaren and Red Bull.

"Historically, we've been strong here, but we can't rely on past successes," Leclerc said. "We need to do everything possible to be in the best situation. Lately, we've been slipping in performance compared to those ahead, so winning will be very difficult."

As the weekend unfolds, Ferrari's challenge will be to translate optimism into results on a circuit that demands precision and speed. The team will aim to capitalize on any opportunity and hope that their strengths align well with the unique demands of Singapore's street layout.
