Isack Hadjar Questions Red Bull's Dominance Ahead of US Grand Prix

Isack Hadjar has expressed doubts about Red Bull having the fastest car, despite recent successes by teammate Max Verstappen. He highlighted technical issues and believes Ferrari currently holds the edge.

Isack Hadjar is keeping expectations in check for Red Bull Racing despite Max Verstappen's recent winning streak. Even after victories in Malaysia and Singapore, Hadjar is not convinced that Red Bull has the fastest car on the grid. He points to Ferrari as the team to beat, especially after their performance in Singapore.

While Verstappen capitalized on Red Bull's upgrades to bag two wins, Hadjar's own race was marred by technical setbacks. In Singapore, these issues forced him to miss Sprint Qualifying and start the race from the pit lane, ultimately finishing in P10. The difference in fortunes between the two drivers was evident, yet Hadjar remains skeptical about any claims of Red Bull's dominance.

Speaking ahead of the United States Grand Prix, Hadjar stated, "I don't think we have the fastest car. It was dominant in Malaysia, but in Singapore, I believe Ferrari had the edge. If Max was in the Ferrari, he might have won with a larger margin." He pointed out Verstappen's narrow pole position win and Ferrari's tire disadvantage as factors that skewed the race results.

Despite the frustrations of Singapore, Hadjar is eager to move on and focus on the upcoming race at the Circuit of The Americas. He recalls a challenging weekend last season, finishing P16 for Racing Bulls, but remains optimistic about the track and recent car performance. "We know our weaknesses and are working on them," Hadjar said. "I just want a clean race weekend after the last two frustrating ones."

Meanwhile, McLaren's Oscar Piastri shared his perspective on Red Bull's position. He acknowledged their recent upgrades as significant, noting a strong performance in Baku and subsequent wins. "Red Bull has taken a big step forward," Piastri commented, while also recognizing Ferrari's consistent speed, particularly in corners. He concluded that Red Bull has emerged as the most consistently quick car over recent weeks, but challenges persist each weekend.

As the United States Grand Prix approaches, the debate continues over who truly holds the advantage on the track. With Hadjar's candid remarks and Piastri's observations, fans can anticipate an intriguing battle as the season progresses.
