Lando Norris is eagerly awaiting the decision on whether his new team, LN4 Fusion, will secure a spot on the F2 grid. The outcome is expected within a month as F2 finalizes its team lineup.
Lando Norris is on the verge of discovering if his LN4 Fusion team will be granted a coveted slot on the F2 grid. The decision is imminent, with F2 and F3 operating on a three-year rolling cycle for team admissions. Norris, who launched his team in September alongside the LN4 Legacy Programme, aims to support budding talent, mirroring the support he received on his journey to Formula 1.
The LN4 Fusion team has already secured entries in the Italian F4 Championship, FIA Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA), and Formula 3. Norris hopes to add British F4 and the F2 series to this list. His acquisition of assets from the existing team AIX allowed him to join F3 mid-cycle, but for F2, he must wait for the new cycle to begin.
F2 CEO Bruno Michel confirmed the selection process is nearing its conclusion, with an announcement expected soon. "We are finalizing the process for the F2 teams for the next three years," Michel stated, emphasizing the positivity of having someone like Norris involved.
Michel praised Norris for his commitment to giving back, noting, "I'm always grateful to drivers who try to give back to the system that helped their careers. It's a strong gesture from Lando, and he seems to be enjoying it." While Norris won’t manage the team daily due to his F1 commitments, Michel is confident in his approach to team management.
The process should wrap up before the season's closing rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi in December, leaving Norris and his team waiting with bated breath for the final word.
