Mercedes Unveils Special Livery for Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang
Mercedes will feature a unique livery on their W17 during the Bahrain Grand Prix, held at Malaysia's Sepang Circuit. The design celebrates their partnership with PETRONAS as F1 makes its return to the track.
In a nod to their longstanding relationship with title partner PETRONAS, Mercedes will showcase a special livery on their W17 during the Bahrain Grand Prix, which is notably being held at Malaysia's Sepang Circuit. This event marks Formula 1's return to the track, which last hosted a Grand Prix in 2017.
The car will sport PETRONAS's signature green hues alongside its traditional black, as the team aims to celebrate this partnership. Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff highlighted the significance of the venue, stating, "This weekend has extra significance for us because of our long-standing relationship with PETRONAS."
Wolff also acknowledged the collaborative effort required to bring F1 back to Sepang, praising the work done by both Malaysia and Bahrain. "It's fantastic to see Formula 1 returning to Sepang," he noted, emphasizing the importance of the collaboration.
Sepang is known for its challenging conditions, which demand a lot from both cars and drivers. Wolff elaborated on the track's demands, pointing out the need for high-speed corner performance, good traction, and robust tyre management, all under the Malaysian heat.
In addition to the eye-catching livery, Mercedes will introduce an update package at the event. Wolff is optimistic about the improvements, aiming to quickly understand and execute with the new setup to remain competitive at the front of the grid.
"Our focus is on understanding the package quickly, executing the weekend well, and aiming to put ourselves in the fight at the front," Wolff added, setting a clear target for the team as they prepare for the race weekend.
