Taito Kato Secures First F3 Sprint Race Win at Monza
Taito Kato delivered an impressive performance at Monza, claiming his first F3 Sprint Race victory. The ART Grand Prix driver moved up from ninth on the grid to finish ahead of championship leader Freddie Slater.
In a standout performance at Monza, Taito Kato clinched his first Formula 3 Sprint Race victory, driving for ART Grand Prix. Starting from ninth on the grid, Kato executed a series of strategic overtakes, ultimately holding off TRIDENT's Freddie Slater in the closing laps at the iconic Temple of Speed.
Slater, who began the race in 12th, made a commendable charge to second place, extending his championship lead to 17 points as the series looks ahead to the Feature Race. Meanwhile, Van Amersfoort Racing's Hiyu Yamakoshi secured the final podium spot.
The race saw AIX Racing's Yevan David pull off a final-lap maneuver to take fourth from Alessandro Giusti, who led much of the race but had to settle for fifth. His MP Motorsport teammate, Mattia Colnaghi, followed in sixth, with Campos Racing's Ernesto Rivera in seventh.
Further down the order, Enzo Deligny of Van Amersfoort Racing finished eighth, while DAMS Lucas Oil's Nicola Lacorte and Bruno del Pino rounded out the top ten. Slater is set to start from pole in Sunday's Feature Race, with ART's Kanato Le joining him on the front row.
