Max Verstappen snags pole position for the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix, narrowly beating Charles Leclerc. Isack Hadjar and both Aston Martin drivers will start from the pit lane due to setup changes.
Max Verstappen will lead the pack at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix, marking his first pole position at the iconic Marina Bay Street Circuit. The Red Bull driver edged out Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc by a mere tenth of a second in a tightly contested qualifying session. Following closely behind, Lewis Hamilton will start third in the second Ferrari, while Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli takes the fourth spot on the grid.
The McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri secured the fifth and sixth positions, respectively. George Russell, driving for Mercedes, managed to split the McLarens in qualifying times but faces a back-of-the-grid start due to engine change penalties.
Alpine’s Pierre Gasly continues his strong form, qualifying seventh, ahead of Racing Bulls’ Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad. Audi’s Nico Hulkenberg completes the top ten.
However, not everyone had a smooth qualifying. Isack Hadjar, in the second Red Bull, will start from the pit lane after mechanical issues in Q1 forced setup changes and the installation of new power unit elements. Both Aston Martin drivers, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, join him at the pit lane start with revised setups and new engine components. Alonso had initially qualified 17th, while Stroll was 19th.
The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix is set to commence at 2000 local time. Fans can expect an exciting race under the lights at Marina Bay, with live coverage starting an hour earlier.
