Formula 1 is set to debut a new Strategy Insight graphic at the Hungarian Grand Prix, aiming to offer fans a clearer picture of the strategic choices teams face during a race. This tool leverages live data, predictive analysis, and F1's broadcasting expertise to explain why teams make certain calls on the track.
The graphic, developed by F1 Insights in partnership with AWS, is designed to demystify the high-stakes decisions around tyre management, pit stop timing, Safety Car risks, and competitor actions. By tapping into live timing, telemetry, and historical race data, it will highlight moments where strategies might shift, such as extending a stint or countering an undercut threat.
AWS will lend its technological muscle to provide historical modeling, allowing fans to compare current race conditions with past scenarios. Once processed, this information will be quickly transformed into concise broadcast graphics by F1’s team, delivering insights directly to viewers in real time.
This new feature is part of F1's ongoing effort to enhance the fan experience, providing deeper insights into the sport’s strategic complexities while the action unfolds on the track.
