The 2027 season for FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 sees a mix of classic and fresh venues. Expect racing action in Istanbul and Mexico City, alongside returns to Montreal and more traditional circuits.

FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 have rolled out their plans for the 2027 racing season, promising an intriguing blend of familiar circuits and exciting new locations. Both series will continue their role as the junior companions to Formula 1, with Formula 2 scheduled for 14 rounds and Formula 3 for 10 rounds throughout the year.

Formula 2 will make a return to Montreal, following its debut race there in 2026, while Mexico City joins the calendar for the first time. Additionally, Istanbul is set to host a Formula 2 race, marking the first time it will feature in this championship.

As for Formula 3, it will make its maiden visits to Jeddah and Montreal, with the season finale taking place in Istanbul, adding a fresh twist to the closing stages of the championship.

The racing calendar kicks off in March, with events in Bahrain and Jeddah, followed by a trip to Melbourne in April, and then Montreal in May. June brings both series to the iconic streets of Monaco, before back-to-back rounds at Silverstone and Spielberg.

After a summer hiatus, action resumes in Monza, then shifts to Madrid. Formula 2 will be the sole support race in Azerbaijan come September, before both series head to Istanbul for the season-ending race for Formula 3.

Formula 2 will wrap up its season with races in Mexico, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, bringing a diverse geographical spread to its conclusion.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, expressed enthusiasm for the 2027 schedule, highlighting the mix of iconic and challenging circuits like Istanbul and Mexico City. He emphasized Formula 2's role in nurturing future F1 stars by offering them the platform to showcase their talents on a global stage.

Bruno Michel, CEO of FIA Formula 2, shared his excitement about the calendar's expansion, noting the strategic addition of new venues while ensuring financial sustainability by covering freight costs. This approach aims to minimize the financial burden on teams while expanding the championship's reach across four continents, enhancing its stature as a key development ground for upcoming F1 talent.
