Leclerc Eyes a Memorable Monza with Ferrari's Engine Boost

Charles Leclerc is setting his sights on a 'very special weekend' at Monza, buoyed by the prospect of more power from Ferrari's latest engine update. With the Italian Grand Prix just around the corner, Leclerc, alongside teammate Lewis Hamilton, is eager to capitalize on the new developments in Ferrari's power unit.

Ferrari's recent enhancements are part of their 2026 'ADUO' allowance, and Leclerc is hopeful that this will bring him closer to victory on home turf. Reflecting on past triumphs at Monza in 2019 and 2024, Leclerc aims to add another win to his collection, though he acknowledges the fierce competition ahead.

"The engine will have a bit more power, which is always a good thing," said Leclerc. However, he's quick to temper expectations, noting that the real impact of the upgrade will only be evident once they hit the track.

Leclerc also highlighted the need for 'perfect execution' if Ferrari is to claim their third win of the season, following Hamilton’s victory in Barcelona and his own in Silverstone. "If there’s one track where we might compromise a little in Qualifying for the race, it’s this one," Leclerc noted, underscoring the strategic balancing act ahead. Despite the challenges, he remains optimistic about the weekend.

Racing in Italy holds a special place in Leclerc’s heart. Having spent much of his formative karting years there, he feels a deep connection to the country and its people. "To be racing with Ferrari in Italy is already a special experience," he shared, hoping to translate the local support into a victory.
