Liam Lawson Reflects on a Promising Stint with Red Bull

Liam Lawson has been making the most of his temporary role at Red Bull, standing in for the injured Isack Hadjar. In the recent Spanish Grand Prix, Lawson secured a commendable sixth-place finish, marking his best result since making the switch from Racing Bulls. This came after a points finish in the Netherlands, showcasing his ability to adapt quickly to the Red Bull machinery.

Reflecting on his recent performances, Lawson remarked, "Overall, it's been a strong three weekends." The young Kiwi's stint with Red Bull has indeed been noteworthy, especially considering the challenges of the Madring street circuit. "Hard to overtake is really the biggest thing," he explained, noting the difficulties of navigating the track. Despite this, Lawson executed a daring move on Franco Colapinto, adding a bit of flair to his race before a late pit stop secured his points finish.

Lawson's current run with Red Bull is a stark contrast to his brief stint at the start of the 2025 season, where he only participated in two races before returning to Racing Bulls. However, his consistent performances this year, scoring points in eight out of eleven races, earned him another opportunity with the senior team.

As for Hadjar, who was seen in the Madrid paddock, his return remains uncertain as he recovers from a wrist injury. With Baku on the horizon, Lawson remains focused on making the most of his time with Red Bull. "I've just tried to maximize each weekend," he shared, acknowledging the challenges and the busy schedule of preparing for both teams.

While Lawson admits he would have liked a stronger result in Monza, he's pleased with his recent performances. "It's been a busy time trying to put everything together, but it's been good," he concluded. The coming weeks promise to be equally demanding, but Lawson seems ready to tackle whatever comes his way.
