Liam Lawson Steps In for Hadjar at Red Bull, Tsunoda to Race for Racing Bulls in Monza

Red Bull has outlined its driver strategy for the Italian Grand Prix, announcing that Isack Hadjar will miss another race weekend as he continues to recover from a wrist injury. Liam Lawson, who impressed with a P7 finish in Zandvoort, will once again be stepping in for Hadjar.

The New Zealand driver gets another chance to prove himself at the Monza circuit, partnering with Max Verstappen. As Hadjar progresses through his rehabilitation, Red Bull is taking a cautious approach, ensuring he returns only when fully fit.

"Liam will drive alongside Max at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza," stated Red Bull. "Isack is making encouraging progress, but we won't rush his return. We wish him a speedy recovery."

Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda will continue to race for Racing Bulls, taking Lawson's place in the team for a second consecutive weekend. Tsunoda, who narrowly missed out on points with an 11th-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, is eager for another opportunity to showcase his skills.

"I definitely enjoyed it overall," Tsunoda remarked about his experience in Zandvoort. "I gave it 100% and was quite pleased with my performance."

As the teams prepare for the Italian GP, Ayumu Iwasa is also set to appear on track, driving Verstappen’s Red Bull during the first free practice session on Friday. It seems both Red Bull and Racing Bulls are keeping their options open, with Lawson and Tsunoda making the most of their unexpected opportunities.
