Lusail Circuit Confirms Qatar Grand Prix Preparations on Track

The Lusail International Circuit is gearing up for a busy November, hosting both Formula 1 and MotoGP events. Officials at the circuit have confirmed that preparations for the Qatar Grand Prix are almost finished. There had been some uncertainty about the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, which have already disrupted this season's schedule.

Initially, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were cancelled as the conflict erupted, prompting Formula 1 to consider a European race as a backup for the season's final events. The Lusail Circuit also postponed the Qatar 1812km in March, affecting the World Endurance Championship's start.

However, recent statements from Formula One Management and the FIA suggest that the races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi will proceed as planned. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem reassured the media, including PlanetF1.com, that the rounds "are going to happen," emphasizing the FIA's commitment to safety and readiness to adapt if necessary. "We will never take our staff or drivers or any officials to a place where we feel it is risky. No way," he stated, adding that, as of now, there are no changes planned.

The Lusail Circuit's CEO, Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mohannadi, expressed eagerness to welcome fans back for two major international motorsport events. He highlighted the circuit's focus on ensuring an exceptional fan experience, saying, "Our preparations are nearing completion, with our teams focused on ensuring that every aspect of the venue is ready to deliver an exceptional experience for fans, as we do every year."

The Qatar Grand Prix is set for 28-30 November, followed by the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from 5-7 December, closing the season. As the world watches, Lusail promises to deliver its signature hospitality and organizational excellence.
