MotoGP Bikes to Rev Up F1 United States Grand Prix

Dani Pedrosa leads a MotoGP demo at the F1 United States GP, showcasing the thrill of two-wheel racing. The event highlights Liberty Media's dual ownership of both MotoGP and F1.

The United States Grand Prix is set to offer a unique spectacle this year as MotoGP joins the F1 festivities at the Circuit of the Americas. On Saturday, a high-speed demonstration featuring MotoGP legend Dani Pedrosa and a trio of other riders will take place, bringing the excitement of two-wheel racing to the F1 stage. This collaboration is a result of both MotoGP and F1 being under Liberty Media's umbrella.

While the idea of a joint F1 and MotoGP event has been floated, the differing safety requirements pose a significant challenge. MotoGP tracks typically feature air fences, a setup not easily compatible with F1's needs.

Dani Pedrosa, a three-time world champion, will lead the demonstration on a KTM. He expressed his excitement about riding at COTA, calling it one of the world's most iconic circuits. "The United States Grand Prix is a truly unique event on the F1 calendar," Pedrosa noted, highlighting the chance to showcase the speed, sound, and performance of MotoGP bikes to fans.

Joining Pedrosa will be World Superbike champion Nicolo Bulega on a Ducati, Andrea Dovizioso on a Yamaha, and Lorenzo Savadori on a Trackhouse Racing Aprilia. Bulega shared his enthusiasm, stating, "This is a fantastic opportunity to put MotoGP in front of one of the biggest crowds in world motorsport."

Though the demonstration is happening in Texas, the current MotoGP grid will be racing in Australia at Philip Island. In the meantime, fans at COTA can admire the bikes up close and enjoy various event activations.
