Red Bull Shake-Up: Lawson Replaces Injured Hadjar, Tsunoda Returns for Dutch GP
Isack Hadjar will miss the Dutch Grand Prix due to a wrist injury, with Liam Lawson stepping in at Red Bull. Yuki Tsunoda will fill Lawson's seat at Racing Bulls.
Red Bull has announced a lineup shuffle for this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix. Isack Hadjar will be sitting out due to a wrist injury, handing over the reins to Liam Lawson. The French driver, currently eighth in the standings, was injured during the summer break, cutting short his streak of seven consecutive points finishes.
Stepping up to fill Hadjar's spot is Lawson, who previously had a brief stint with Red Bull at the start of the 2025 season. The New Zealander has since been making waves in the midfield with Racing Bulls, earning the title of 'best of the rest' in points. As Lawson moves up, his seat at Racing Bulls will be temporarily occupied by Yuki Tsunoda. Tsunoda, a familiar face at Red Bull, lost his full-time seat last season and has been serving as a test and reserve driver for both Red Bull and Racing Bulls.
In a statement, Red Bull confirmed, "Hadjar has sustained a wrist injury during summer shutdown that will prevent him from racing at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix. We will be welcoming back Lawson who will replace him in RB22 this weekend. The Team wishes Isack a speedy recovery and thanks Liam for stepping in on short notice."
Racing Bulls has also expressed gratitude for the adaptability of both Lawson and Tsunoda as they prepare for the upcoming race weekend. Tsunoda will team up with rookie Arvid Lindblad, formerly Hadjar's teammate.
All eyes will be on Max Verstappen as well, who is gearing up for his home race at Circuit Zandvoort. The Dutch Grand Prix promises to be an intriguing affair, not just for the action on track, but also for the reshuffled driver lineup that adds an extra layer of interest to the weekend.
