Rodin Motorsport Dominates Baku F2 Qualifying with Dunne and Stenshorne Leading the Charge

Rodin Motorsport had a dream start to their Formula 2 weekend in Baku, sweeping both Qualifying sessions with impressive performances from Alex Dunne and Martinius Stenshorne. The team secured front-row lockouts in both sessions, a feat that undoubtedly sets high expectations for the races ahead.

In the first qualifying session, Alex Dunne clocked the fastest lap with a time of 1m 55.383s, narrowly edging out his teammate Stenshorne by just 0.033s. This strong showing from the pair ensured a 1-2 finish for Rodin. Campos Racing's Noel León claimed the third spot, ahead of ART Grand Prix's Kush Maini and Invicta Racing's Rafael Câmara.

PREMA Racing's duo, Mari Boya and Sebastián Montoya, finished sixth and seventh, while Dino Beganovic squeezed into eighth with a late effort. TRIDENT’s Laurens van Hoepen and championship leader Nikola Tsolov rounded out the top ten, with Tsolov set to start from reverse grid pole in Saturday’s Sprint Race.

Qualifying 2 saw Stenshorne take center stage, delivering a stellar lap of 1m 53.728 to secure pole position, beating Dunne by 0.445s. Câmara, who had been on provisional pole, watched as his position slipped to third from the pit lane. Boya continued his consistent form with a fourth-place finish, followed by Maini and León in fifth and sixth. Van Hoepen took seventh, ahead of Tsolov and ART's Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak. Montoya completed the top ten.
