The 2026 Formula 1 season has reached its midpoint, and the drivers have certainly kept us entertained through 11 intense rounds. But who has impressed the most according to our Power Rankings judges? Let’s dive into the top 10 as we head into the summer break.
How it works
Our panel of five judges rates each driver after every race weekend, giving scores out of 10 based purely on performance, ignoring the machinery under them. These scores are averaged to create a race score, which accumulates over the season to form our Power Rankings Leaderboard.
#### Kimi Antonelli
Kimi Antonelli has been nothing short of outstanding this season. After a somewhat inconsistent rookie year with Mercedes, he's emerged from the winter break with a vengeance. Six pole positions and six wins have put him comfortably at the top of the Drivers’ Championship. There's room for improvement, particularly in track limit discipline, but his speed and consistency are undeniable. The question is, can anyone catch him in the second half?
#### Max Verstappen
Despite being sixth in the standings and over 100 points behind Antonelli, Max Verstappen remains a formidable force. With Red Bull's new power unit taking time to settle in, the RB22 had its share of early struggles. However, recent updates have breathed new life into the team, and Verstappen has responded with three podiums in the last four races. Never count him out.
#### Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton's 2026 season with Ferrari is worlds apart from his challenging 2025 campaign. After a tough first year, he's found his groove with five podiums, including a win in Barcelona, placing him second behind Antonelli in the title race. A revamped engineering team and a refreshed mindset have certainly done wonders.
#### Pierre Gasly
At Alpine, Pierre Gasly has been a consistent performer, scoring points in eight out of 11 races, including a surprise podium in Monaco. Despite Alpine being challenged by other midfield teams recently, Gasly's performances remain impressive.
#### Liam Lawson
Liam Lawson has been a standout in his first full season with Racing Bulls. Ninth in the standings with 43 points, Lawson has delivered strong results, including sixth-place finishes in Monaco and Silverstone. His progress shows no signs of slowing.
#### George Russell
George Russell had a mixed first half of the season. After a dream start with a win in Australia, he's faced reliability issues and unusual incidents. Trailing team mate Antonelli by 59 points, Russell knows he needs a strong second half to turn things around.
#### Arvid Lindblad
Racing Bulls' Arvid Lindblad has quickly adapted to F1, earning points in the first six races. The 18-year-old Brit has shown he's one to watch, consistently finishing in the points since Monaco.
#### Lando Norris
Defending champion Lando Norris has had a quieter season so far, with McLaren's first win of the new era only coming at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Yet, Norris is satisfied with his performances and hopes that post-break updates will allow him to fight for more victories.
#### Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc has faced a challenging season at Ferrari, with various issues slowing his momentum. However, recent performances, including a win in Britain and a second-place finish in Belgium, have reminded everyone of his potential when things go his way.
#### Isack Hadjar
Isack Hadjar is the latest Red Bull junior tasked with partnering Verstappen. While not yet matching his illustrious teammate, Hadjar has shown promise with consistent point finishes, breaking the team's 'second seat curse'.
#### Franco Colapinto
Franco Colapinto has made significant strides in his first full season with Alpine, contributing to their points tally alongside Gasly. His consistent performances have helped keep Alpine competitive in the Teams’ Championship.
