FIA Investigates Isack Hadjar After US Grand Prix Incident

Red Bull's Isack Hadjar is under investigation by the FIA following an incident with Williams' Alex Albon during the United States Grand Prix. The clash, which happened at Turn 1, has prompted a post-session review by the stewards.

Isack Hadjar, driving for Red Bull, finds himself under the microscope of the FIA after an incident involving Williams' Alex Albon during the United States Grand Prix. The stewards confirmed they are investigating Hadjar for potentially erratic driving following a tense moment at Turn 1.

Albon was off the racing line as they approached the corner, but Hadjar misjudged his entry, resulting in a lock-up of the front left tire and a need for evasive action. This led to a less-than-pleased Hadjar venting over the team radio with a colorful inquiry into Albon's actions, followed by a frustrated gesture from the cockpit and further complaints about Albon's positioning on the track.

The stewards took note of the clash, and a post-session investigation was announced. It was a difficult FP3 session for Hadjar overall, as he struggled with the Red Bull RB22, particularly through the esses, leading to more disgruntled radio messages. "Check the floor," he instructed his team, clearly baffled by the car's behavior. Despite these issues, Hadjar managed to finish 10th, trailing teammate Max Verstappen by a second. Verstappen, having already claimed victories in Bahrain, Malaysia, and Singapore, secured second in the session.

On the Williams side, Alex Albon ended FP3 in 19th, amid a tumultuous period for the team. Teammate Carlos Sainz divulged that Williams is undergoing significant internal changes, with the team choosing to implement adjustments mid-season rather than wait for the usual break. "It's uncomfortable," Sainz admitted, "but it's about setting ourselves up for success next year."

The investigation into Hadjar's driving adds another layer to the weekend's drama, with both drivers and teams looking to navigate the challenges of the Grand Prix while keeping an eye on future improvements.
