Lando Norris Extends McLaren Contract Through 2030
Lando Norris has signed a new contract with McLaren, securing his place in the team until at least the end of 2030. This extension follows his successful 2025 World Championship win and reflects McLaren's faith in his abilities.
Lando Norris will remain with McLaren until the end of 2030, having signed a contract extension that underscores his commitment to the team. Norris, who joined McLaren in 2017 as a test and development driver, has evolved into one of the grid's standout talents, clinching the 2025 World Championship. His journey from a promising young driver to a world champion is a testament to both his skill and McLaren's nurturing environment.
At 26, Norris has amassed an impressive record, including 13 Grand Prix wins, 18 pole positions, and 48 podium finishes. His career with McLaren is now set to rival the longevity of F1 legends, as he will have spent 12 years with the team by the end of his current deal, matching Lewis Hamilton's tenure with Mercedes.
Norris's previous contract was due to end in 2027, but McLaren acted decisively to secure his services for the long term. In a gesture of appreciation, the team will also present him with an MCL39, the car he drove to his championship victory last year.
"McLaren is my home, and I'm thrilled to continue this journey," Norris remarked. "We've achieved great things together, but there's more to come. I'm excited about returning to the track at Monza and what the future holds for us."

Norris’s contract extension aligns with Max Verstappen’s recent commitment to Red Bull, which also runs until the end of 2030. Meanwhile, Norris's teammate Oscar Piastri is secured with McLaren until 2028, ensuring stability for the team in the coming years.
By the time his new contract ends, Norris will be 31, having potentially matched some of the sport’s greats in terms of tenure and success. McLaren and Norris both seem eager to continue their winning ways, aiming for more championships in the years ahead.
