F2: Joshua Duerksen Dominates Monza with Invicta Racing 1-2 Finish

Joshua Duerksen capped off a stunning weekend at Monza by securing his second victory in the Formula 2 Feature Race, delivering a one-two finish for Invicta Racing.

Starting from second on the grid, Duerksen quickly took advantage after his teammate and polesitter Rafael Camara overshot Turn 2 on the opening lap. What followed was a spirited battle between the two Invicta drivers, with the lead changing hands several times before strategy came into play.

Duerksen made an early pit stop to switch to soft tyres, while Camara stayed out for a few more laps. Once the Brazilian made his pit stop, he rejoined the track behind Duerksen, who then managed to maintain his lead. Despite a mid-race Safety Car that bunched up the field, Duerksen held his nerve, fending off a late charge from Camara.

Although Camara pushed hard in the closing stages, he couldn't find a way past Duerksen, who crossed the line first. This victory marked Duerksen's eighth in F2, putting him level with Felipe Drugovich, Nyck de Vries, and Artem Markelov in the record books.

Camara's second-place finish earned him 18 valuable points, moving him up to second in the championship standings and closing the gap to leader Nikola Tsolov, who finished seventh. The podium was completed by Noel Leon of Campos Racing, followed by John Bennett and Ritomo Miyata rounding out the top five.
