Lando Norris has announced the launch of his LN4 Fusion junior team, set to compete in Formula 2 starting next season. This move extends Norris's influence across the junior motorsport ladder.
Lando Norris has taken a significant step in his motorsport journey, not just as a driver but now as a team co-founder. His newly established LN4 Fusion junior team has been given the green light to compete in Formula 2 from the next season. Norris, who co-founded the team in September, has acquired assets from the existing AIX Racing outfit to make this leap into the junior series.
Norris, the reigning World Champion, is extending his reach in the racing world through his LN Racing Kart venture, now spanning to Formula 2, the last tier before Formula 1. LN4 Fusion, co-founded with an investment group led by Dan Richards, aims to make a mark in junior motorsport by 2027. The team has secured its spot on the Formula 2 grid for at least the next three years, maintaining the series' 22-car lineup.
Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, saying, "We received strong interest from teams around the world for this new three-year cycle, underlining the strength and appeal of our Championship. I am also pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the grid. They will bring considerable expertise, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution to the Championship."
Beyond Formula 2, LN4 Fusion plans to compete in Italian and German Formula 4, Formula Regional, and Formula 3. The team is also working on joining the British Formula 4 Championship. A driver development program, run by ADD Management—which also manages Norris—aims to provide budding drivers with financial support and a path to Formula 1. Veteran team boss Rene Rosin will serve as team principal, while Dan Hazlewood will manage UK operations.
Norris himself is funding the LN4 Legacy programme. Reflecting on his journey, Norris said, "I’ve been really lucky to have some amazing people around me throughout my career, and I know that getting to Formula 1 takes so much more than just talent. You need the right people around you, the right support, and the right opportunities at the right time. That’s what these two projects are all about."
Through LN4 Fusion and the LN4 Legacy Programme, Norris aims to create opportunities for the next generation of drivers, ensuring they have the support and environment needed to succeed in motorsport.
