Red Bull Welcomes Aston Martin's Tom McCullough for 2027

Tom McCullough, a familiar face in the F1 engineering circles, is set to join Red Bull Racing in 2027, stepping in as their Head of Racing. After contributing significantly to Aston Martin and its earlier iterations — Racing Point and Force India — McCullough's move marks a new chapter in his accomplished career.

The seasoned engineer has been part of Aston Martin's fabric for a long time, most recently shifting to a broader racing role at the start of 2025. This transition came amid a leadership shake-up that saw him step away from direct F1 involvement. However, his departure at the end of the 2026 season was confirmed last month, leaving many to wonder about his next steps.

Now, ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Red Bull has confirmed McCullough's future role in their team. The Milton Keynes outfit is in the midst of rebuilding its leadership structure following the exit of high-profile team members. Among them is Gianpiero Lambiase, Max Verstappen’s Race Engineer, who will leave for McLaren in 2028.

Red Bull expressed their enthusiasm in a concise statement, "We’re delighted to welcome Tom to the team at the beginning of 2027 and look forward to the wealth of experience and expertise he will bring to the role."

McCullough's F1 journey began with Williams in the early 2000s, where he spent nearly a decade before a brief stint at Sauber. His transition to Force India paved the way for a long-standing tenure with the team as it evolved into Racing Point and eventually Aston Martin.
