Antonelli Nears Title with Ninth Win at United States Grand Prix

Kimi Antonelli clinched victory in Austin, edging closer to his first Drivers’ Championship. Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen completed the podium at the Circuit of The Americas.

The 2026 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas saw Kimi Antonelli secure his ninth win of the season, bringing him tantalizingly close to claiming his first Drivers’ Championship. The Mercedes driver showcased his dominance in Austin, leaving his competitors in the dust.

Charles Leclerc put in a strong performance for Ferrari to finish second, while Max Verstappen ensured Red Bull had a presence on the podium by taking third place. Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton came in fourth, followed by McLaren's Lando Norris, who made a one-stop strategy work to secure fifth.

Red Bull's Isack Hadjar, who started third, slipped to sixth by the end of the race. McLaren's Oscar Piastri finished seventh, with Mercedes' George Russell in eighth. Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly completed the points scorers for Racing Bulls and Alpine, respectively.

Outside the top ten, Audi's Nico Hulkenberg finished 11th, with Racing Bulls' Arvid Lindblad in 12th. Gabriel Bortoleto recovered from a grid penalty to claim 13th for Audi. Esteban Ocon was 14th for Haas, and Lance Stroll came 15th for Aston Martin, just ahead of teammate Fernando Alonso.

Williams drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz were 17th and 18th, while Sergio Perez ended the day 19th for Cadillac. The race saw three retirements: Valtteri Bottas and Franco Colapinto failed to finish for Cadillac and Alpine, respectively, along with Haas's Oliver Bearman.
