FIA Issues Warning to Isack Hadjar After Fan Incident

The FIA has issued a formal warning to Red Bull's Isack Hadjar following an altercation with a fan. The incident occurred prior to FP1 at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Isack Hadjar, the Red Bull driver, has received a formal warning from the FIA after an incident involving a fan before the first practice session in Mexico City. While walking to the garage, Hadjar was approached by a fan seeking a selfie. The stewards noted that Hadjar described the approach as aggressive, and his subsequent actions were deemed misconduct.

FIA Stewards Warn Isack Hadjar for Fan Encounter

As Hadjar made his way to the Red Bull garage, he was stopped by a fan wanting a photograph. Following the encounter, Hadjar pushed the fan away, a move that the stewards identified as a violation of the FIA International Sporting Code. However, given the circumstances, the stewards opted for a warning instead of a more severe penalty.

According to the stewards, Hadjar was running late for FP1 and had already stopped for a photo with a young fan when he encountered the aggressive guest. The stewards' report highlighted that Hadjar initially tried to keep the guest at bay by placing a hand on their waist before pushing them aside.

The decision to issue a warning took into account several mitigating factors: the aggressive nature of the fan's approach, Hadjar's need to reach FP1 on time, insufficient security presence, and the invasion of his personal space. Additionally, the stewards acknowledged the broader challenges drivers face navigating the paddock.

Later that day, Hadjar managed to secure sixth place in FP2, and his performance helped Red Bull draw level with McLaren in the Constructors’ standings.
