Robin Raikkonen Joins Red Bull's Junior Driver Programme

Robin Raikkonen, son of F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen, is the latest addition to Red Bull's esteemed junior driver programme. The young talent will begin his journey with the team in 2027, following in the footsteps of notable graduates like Max Verstappen.

Red Bull Racing has expanded its renowned junior driver programme by welcoming Robin Raikkonen, the 11-year-old son of 2007 F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen. Known affectionately as 'Ace,' Robin is set to officially join the programme in 2027, marking a significant step in his burgeoning racing career.

The Red Bull Junior Team has a storied history of nurturing young talent, with alumni including Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, and Arvid Lindblad. Robin, praised as "one of the most promising young talents of his generation," has already shown considerable skill in karting competitions.

Kimi Raikkonen expressed his enthusiasm for his son's new venture, stating, "We are all thrilled and excited that Robin has been chosen to further his racing path as a member of the Red Bull Junior Team. Laurent [Mekies] and everyone else at Red Bull have been incredibly supportive throughout all our discussions."

Laurent Mekies, Red Bull's Team Principal, highlighted Robin's potential, noting, "His speed, racecraft, and natural talent have established him as one of the most promising young drivers in his age group. At the same time, he impresses with his maturity, his calm approach, and his clear focus on driving."

The programme aims to guide Robin through the ranks without undue pressure, providing the necessary support and resources to help him realize his potential. Mekies added, "We strongly believe that talent can thrive when supported by the right people, the right culture, and the right environment. That is what we are committed to providing Robin as he continues his development."

Red Bull's commitment to nurturing young talent has produced multiple F1 stars over the years, and with Robin Raikkonen's entry, the tradition appears set to continue. As the racing world watches this young talent's journey, expectations are high, but the focus remains firmly on development and growth.
