Swedish driver Alexia Danielsson will join the F1 Academy grid in Austin as a Wild Card entry for TeamViewer. This opportunity marks a significant step in her burgeoning racing career.
Alexia Danielsson is set to make her debut as a Wild Card driver for TeamViewer in the upcoming Round 5 of the 2026 F1 Academy season, held in Austin. The Swedish driver, who began her single-seater career in 2022, has been climbing the motorsport ranks, most recently impressing with her performance in the F1 Academy Rookie Test in Navarra.
Danielsson's journey through the racing world started with the Aquilia Formula 1000, progressing to Nordic 4, where she claimed her first victory last season. Her achievements also include a debut win in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia in 2025 and a respectable rookie season in the F4 CEZ Championship this year.
Her strong showing at the Rookie Test, where she clocked the second-fastest time overall, caught the attention of TeamViewer. She will drive the #45 car operated by Hitech, featuring a unique livery celebrating the role of communities in supporting women's careers in sports and tech.
The livery, part of TeamViewer's _Forward Together_ campaign, showcases 250 women from various fields, highlighting the importance of both formal and informal communities in fostering career advancement. These communities focus on leadership, technology, STEM education, and inclusivity in motorsport.
Reflecting on her selection, Danielsson said, "Being given this opportunity by McLaren and performing well at the F1 Academy test exceeded my expectations. Racing at COTA during a Formula 1 weekend is an experience I will cherish and learn from." She added that her primary aim is to learn as much as possible, with hopes of securing a full-season spot next year.
Karin Fink, Head of Commercial Operations at F1 Academy, emphasized the significance of community support in motorsport, while Faith Wheller from TeamViewer noted the importance of highlighting role models and supporting young talents like Danielsson.
