Haas Clarifies Delay in Oliver Bearman's 2027 Contract Announcement

Haas is confident Oliver Bearman will stay for 2027, despite delays in finalizing his contract. Unspecified contractual details are holding up the announcement.

Oliver Bearman's future with Haas for the 2027 F1 season is still up in the air, though team boss Ayao Komatsu is confident he'll stay. The delay in confirming Bearman's new contract is due to unspecified contractual details, according to Komatsu, who assured fans that an agreement is imminent.

Haas recently announced that Rafael Camara would join the team next season on a multi-year deal. The expectation is that Bearman, with 44 starts for Haas since his 2024 debut in Baku, will partner with Camara. However, with Esteban Ocon departing at the end of the current season, Haas has yet to confirm Bearman as Camara’s teammate.

Ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix, Bearman expressed his desire to continue with Haas, noting, "I want to continue with Haas. That’s definitely my goal." He mentioned working on a few things in the background but emphasized that staying with Haas is his target.

Bearman also acknowledged that Ferrari plays a role in his placement and admitted he wished his future had been settled earlier. "If it was up to me, it would have already been announced a long time ago," he remarked, pointing out that the delay is beyond his control.

Komatsu, speaking to Sky Sports F1, downplayed concerns about the delay, attributing it to contractual discussions and asserting, "Honestly, I don’t see any issues. We will get it done, for sure."
